Sushant Singh Rajput case: NCB summons Rhea Chakra

MUMBAI: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), probing the drug case linked to actor
Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death, on Tuesday summoned to Shruti Modi, the former manager of
Rhea Chakraborty, and talent manager Jaya Saha, after their names cropped up in the investigation. Modi and Saha have been asked to present themselves at the NCB’s office in Ballard Pier on Wednesday.

Sources said that the duo has been summoned based on Rhea’s WhatsApp chats. Their names figure in these chats and officials wanted to ascertain if they have played any role in the drug case.

Mumbai Police had earlier recorded their statements in the alleged suicide of Rajput. The CBI, after taking over the probe, had also questioned both of them.

In a related development, the NCB produced Rajput’s friend Suryadeep Malhotra and alleged drug peddler from Goa Chris Costa before the magistrate’s court through videoconferencing. Malhotra was remanded in NCB custody till September 18, and Costa till September 17.

Malhotra, a management graduate, used to drop by Rajput’s house and allegedly smoke marijuana and also arranged it for Rajput the actor at the behest of Rhea and her brother Showik, said officials. Costa used to allegedly buy drugs from co-accused Karamjeet Anand alias KJ and supply it in Goa, they added.

The NCB is also likely to summon actors Sara Ali Khan and
Rakul Preet Singh, and designer Simone Khambatta this week after their names surfaced in Rhea’s interrogations.
